EKA Music band is performing on 20th October 2011 being organised as part of FAIR TRADE FORTNIGHT 2011 celebrations at India Islamic Cultural Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The aim is to promote Fair Trade and Sustainable Consumption among Indian consumers.
The Fair Trade Fortnight celebrations are being organized from 8th to 22nd October 2011 to promote Fair Trade and Sustainable consumption among Indian consumers. Indian Fair Trade organizations, with its amazing product varieties offer enormous opportunities for alternative / ethical consumption to Indian consumers. “There will be public events, fairs, cultural programs, talks, craft demonstration, coffee meets, street processions and many more to promote ‘Fair Trade India’ retail brand throughout India, during Fair Trade Fortnight” says Ms. Jabeen Jambughodawala, President of Fair Trade Forum – India. The programs are supported by European Union and HIVOS under ProSustain project.
Also, Twenty Fair Trade organisations are displaying and selling the crafts and natural products made with respect to People & Environment as part of Fair Trade Fortnight from 20th - 23rd October in the same venue in the ‘Ode to Earth’ Exhibition. The exhibition is organized by Fair Trade Forum – India and Access Development Services.
'Fair Trade Bazaar', display and sale of Fair Trade products, which started on 12th October is attracting hundreds of consumers in Delhi. It will continue till 25th October. A design competition for fashion student "Re-Fashion" is also being organised in Delhi.
The major stakeholders to which we are expected to reach out are students, policy makers, corporate and above all potential consumers. Every single event will have expectedly guests/ celebrities, who are able to add value to Fair Trade and increase visibility. In addition to this, every region will have at least one major public event, which will be the collective initiative of all FTF-I members in the concerned regions.
In Hyderabad, FTF-I and Indian School of Business is organising a panel discussion – Redefining Business, which will be attended by P. Sridharan Nair, Vice President, FTF-I and Iytha Mallikarjuna Executive Director.
In Bangalore, Green Tea Evening and many more is being organised, by FTF-I, members and partners, which includes, Exhibition n 'Fair Trade India' brand promotion in The Ants store, Craft Sale at Mother Earth shop, FT Awareness programs at Bridge-MG Road Corner and Press Meet.
In Kolkata, to promote 'Fair Trade India' brand, Live Demonstration of Crafts, FT Promotion, Coffee Meet n Talk, Producer-story Sharing and many more is being organised.
